Professor Panikkos Poutziouris

Founder

Background

Dr Panikkos Poutziouris is Professor of Entrepreneurial Management at EIMF and Fellow at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, where he leads the Executive MBA module – Enterprising Families and Family Offices, and supports the design and delivery of executive education and leadership programmes geared for business families, private banks and next generation heirs. For a decade he was the Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Business at UCLan Cyprus – serving as Dean of the School of Business (2012-2017) and then as Rector (2017-2022), where he has launched the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development, Alliance & Research and has led a number of European Union funded projects with a focus on strategic growth and succession planning of family firms-SMEs. Professor Poutziouris served for two decades on the Faculty of Alliance Manchester Business School-UK as Senior Lecturer and later a visiting Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Business where he has led educational, training, research and engagement initiatives with a focus on strategic entrepreneurship and the development of owner-managed family businesses across generations. On the consultancy front, Prof Poutziouris has been offering his expertise and support to a number of small-medium-large sized multigenerational family enterprises (in conjunction with HRDA approved vital training programmes), finance houses/banks, governments and enterprise association-support agencies, including SandAire Private Equity, Family Business Network International, Institute for Family Business, Family Firm Institute etc. He has enjoyed sponsorship from National Westminster Bank, UBS Wealth Management, Tilney Fund Management, Saggita Fund Management, BDO Stoy Hayward, EY, KPMG, PwC and Grant Thornton etc. As a Fellow of Family Firm Institute, founding Fellow and former President of the International Family Enterprise Research Academy he has served as an advisor–consultant for the Family Business Expert Group working for the European Commission, Directorate of Enterprise & Industry and for OECD on Family Business and Entrepreneurship Policy Matters. He is a graduate of the University of Nottingham with BA in Economics, MBA, PhD in Economics & Entrepreneurial Management. 

Accolades and Honours: Family Firm Institute  2004 Barbara Hollander Award for Leadership in promoting the theme of family firms and FFI  International Award (2011) in recognition for his contribution to the development of family business initiatives across the globe.
